My wife had our new son Skylar on November 7th, 2014 and since I have been unemployed or only working part-time jobs, I have had the pleasure of watching him grow and learn new things everyday. It has been really fun, except for the terrible nights of sleep, which are slowly getting better now that he is 10 months old. He has been a restless baby since he was born, so sleep to him is like the worst thing in the world.
Before he started crawling on his hands and knees, he was slithering along the floor doing his army crawl and propelling himself forward very quickly with his arms/elbows and toes. I heard Rick Warren, during one of his sermons, call kids/babies that are doing this “Linoleum Lizards”, which I thought was funny and fitting, because they look like lizards slithering on the floor.
At about 9-10 months he started to go on his knees, well his right knee and left foot. After that he finally started to crawl normally on his hands and knees. As of this writing he is two days shy of 10 months, but he has LOVED to stand up for a couple months now. He should be an earlier walker, very early compared to our other two kids, who were very late walkers, like 16 and 17 months old.
With Skylar’s new self mobility, he has gotten into some very interesting, so being a photographer and always having a camera near by, I have tried to always get a photo of him in the interesting and funny locations. Sometimes he feels trapped and hits his head on stuff, so he starts to cry and then we have to find where he is hiding. Our older son Aidan also got into some interesting locations when he was able to move around by himself. I don’t remember if our first child, Kayleen got into similar positions, but I’m guessing she must have also.

In the two images below, Skylar decides to pray to get himself out of the tight situation. God answered his prayers because moments later he was free and roaming all over the apartment once again finding more funny places to get himself into.
I thought the locations that Skylar found himself in were very amusing, so I thought I would share them with everyone on my blog. The photo below of Skylar posing on a huge rock was during our summer hike along a river down from Engelberg, Switzerland.
I hope you enjoy the photos and my other photos on my website.
